Farah Relay connects ChatGPT to a paired Linux host through an outbound-only HTTPS channel. The device keeps workspace, command, and execution policy local; the relay routes bounded requests and durable results.
Setup & supportHow data is handledOutbound-only
The paired device polls the relay over HTTPS. No public SSH port or inbound device listener is required.
Scoped locally
Reads and patches are limited to approved workspaces. Commands and agent starts are revalidated by device-side policy.
Recoverable work
Stable operation and task identities support later status/result recovery without intentionally starting the same consequential action twice.
What it can do
- List and revoke paired devices.
- Read bounded UTF-8 files inside approved workspaces.
- Apply controlled text patches.
- Start allowlisted durable command tasks and recover status/results.
- Start admitted local agent tasks and recover safe result summaries.
Important: Farah Relay is not an unrestricted root shell. The public-plugin path is still under review. Approval and installed ChatGPT behavior—including whether a later plain continue automatically re-exposes the plugin—are not claimed until the final acceptance test proves them.
